Getting Started

Getting started is easy! Simply contact us by phone at (305) 648-7212, email at info@ylbmillchangingbehavior.com, or fill out our online contact form. We'll schedule a free consultation to discuss your child's needs, answer your questions, and guide you through the assessment process.

ABA therapy can benefit children with autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Global Developmental Delay. While many health insurance plans require a formal Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis to authorize ABA services, families must obtain a diagnosis confirmed by a qualified professional in order to initiate the evaluation process.

ABA therapy is effective for children with various behavioral and developmental conditions. The following diagnoses qualify for ABA services:

  • F84.0 - Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • F90.0 - ADHD, Predominantly Inattentive Type
  • F90.2 - ADHD, Combined Type
  • F91.3 - Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
  • F88 - Global Developmental Delay

Insurance coverage may vary depending on the diagnosis and your specific plan. Contact us for a free consultation to verify your child's eligibility.

Our BCBA will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your child's skills, behaviors, and needs. This typically takes 2-4 hours and includes observations, interviews with parents/caregivers, and standardized assessments. Based on this evaluation, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan with specific, measurable goals tailored to your child.

Once your insurance authorization is approved and we've completed the assessment, we typically can begin therapy within 1-2 weeks. We work diligently to minimize wait times and get your child started as quickly as possible.

Insurance & Billing

We accept 9 major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, Magellan Healthcare, Sunshine Health, Simply Healthcare, Tricare, and Florida Medicaid. Please contact us to verify coverage with your specific plan.

Yes! Thanks to the Affordable Care Act and state mandates, most insurance plans are required to cover ABA therapy for autism. However, coverage varies by plan. Our billing team will verify your benefits, explain your coverage, and handle all insurance paperwork on your behalf.

Out-of-pocket costs depend on your specific insurance plan. Some families have no copay, while others may have deductibles or coinsurance. We'll review your benefits during the consultation and provide a clear explanation of any potential costs before beginning services.

Yes, we offer private pay options for families who prefer not to use insurance or whose insurance doesn't cover ABA therapy. We can provide a detailed fee schedule and discuss payment plans during your consultation.

After your child's assessment, we submit a treatment plan and authorization request to your insurance company. This process typically takes 1-3 weeks. Our team handles all communication with insurance and will keep you updated throughout the process.

Our Services

Treatment hours are individualized based on your child's needs and recommendations from our BCBA. Most children receive between 10-40 hours per week of ABA therapy. The exact amount will be determined during the assessment and may adjust over time as your child progresses.

We offer four main ABA therapy services: In-Home ABA Therapy (treatment in your child's natural home environment), In-School ABA Therapy (support at your child's school with IEP collaboration), Early Intervention ABA (specialized programs for children 0-5 years), and Parent & Caregiver Training (teaching ABA techniques to support your child's progress at home).

Yes! Parent training is a crucial component of effective ABA therapy. We provide regular training sessions to help you implement ABA strategies at home, understand your child's treatment plan, and reinforce skills throughout daily routines. This ensures consistency and maximizes your child's progress.

Yes, we offer In-School ABA services. Our therapists can work with your child at school to support their IEP goals, help with behavioral challenges in the classroom, and collaborate with teachers and school staff. We'll coordinate with your school to ensure the best support for your child.

We provide ABA therapy for children from 18 months to 21 years old. Early intervention (ages 18 months-5 years) is particularly effective, but children and adolescents of all ages can benefit from ABA therapy.

In-school Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy provides direct, structured support within the educational environment, allowing students to access instruction more effectively and participate appropriately in classroom routines. By delivering services in the school setting, ABA intervention promotes consistency, skill generalization, and alignment with daily academic expectations. Collaboration with teachers and school staff ensures that behavioral strategies are implemented cohesively and support inclusive learning experiences.

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) provide individualized, data-driven support focused on classroom behavior, task engagement, and social interaction. Services are aligned with IEP goals and designed to bridge therapeutic objectives with educational demands, helping students develop functional skills that support long-term academic success and meaningful participation in school.

About ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that uses scientifically-proven techniques to increase helpful behaviors and decrease harmful or interfering behaviors. It's the gold standard treatment for autism and is backed by decades of research. ABA therapy is individualized, data-driven, and focuses on teaching functional skills that improve quality of life.

Yes! ABA is recognized by the U.S. Surgeon General, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics as an effective treatment for autism. Hundreds of studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in improving communication, social skills, self-care, and reducing problem behaviors.

ABA therapy can address a wide range of skills including communication and language, social interaction, self-care (toileting, dressing, eating), academic skills, play and leisure skills, daily living skills, and reduction of challenging behaviors. Each program is customized to your child's specific needs and goals.

Every child progresses at their own pace. Some families notice improvements within the first few weeks, while others may take a few months. Consistent, intensive ABA therapy (20-40 hours per week) over 1-3 years typically produces the most significant results. We track data continuously and adjust treatment plans to maximize progress.

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) has a master's degree and designs treatment plans, supervises therapy, and makes clinical decisions. A BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst) has a bachelor's degree and works under BCBA supervision. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) implements the treatment plan under supervision. All our staff are certified and highly trained.
